Convention, here I come!!!

Now you all know why I haven't posted much - too busy making swaps and preparing for Convention! In a few short hours I will be getting on a plane for SLC!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! :-)

Now of course since this is my first conventin I signed up for waaay too many swaps! ha ha
Well they are finally all done and labelled and in my carry-on ready to go.  Here's a couple of them for (hopefully!) your viewing enjoyment!

This was made with the new Circle Circus set - LOVEZIT!! And of course anyone who knows me knows that purple is my favourite colour! This new Rich Razzleberry is to-die-for!! And the polka dot grosgrain ribbon is really nice to work with. I had to use Confetti white for this card as I ran out of Whisper White! It's a little thicker card stock though so it worked out fine!

Here's another card I whipped up for general swapping. I love the combo of red, white and black - very classic! This uses the Eastern Blooms set as well as the (fairly) new eyelet border punch and scallop oval punches. I love anything with scallops! Adds a little touch of elegance I think.

This last card is for a WOW! organized swap. What is a WOW! swap? Well it's a card or item with extra touches on it. It could be a cool technique, a neat fold, but when you look at it you say, Wow! :-)  This has a lot (and I mean a lot) of Big Shot work on it. I think I wore out a set of cutting plates just on this card! I used the Tea Party DSP which I love, and the card stock that co-ordinates with it. The embossing folder and sizzlets I used are exclusive to Stampin' Up!

Ok, I am off to finish packing - next update - from Salt Lake City!

It's here!! It's finally here!!

Ok, at least I think it is. My tulips and hyacinths are poking out! Yay!! I'm thankful that the squirrels didn't get everything. Pesky little critters. And, I can see I am going to get lilacs this year!! Woot Woot!! I've got little purple clusters on my tree!!

Anyway, so, as I said in my last post, home ownership is a time sucker! Especially when you're only one person. But I love it! I was tempted by some springy things in the store today but in the "contraband" store, aka the Big M, I bought some nice silk lilacs for my front hallway. Looking at them makes me think that I should, should, should have bought that stamp set with the watercolour lilacs on it before it retired. Sigh.

In place of that we have the set called Blooming Beautiful, also perfect for watercolouring and great for spring. Check this out:

This is the card I made last year for Mother's Day. I used both the hydrangea and single flower stamps from the set. Mum loved it. I'll be featuring this set at my Water Colour Wonder class on May 24th, and I'll post more samples soon.

Look What I've Been Up To!!

I haven't posted in a while...I am finding that being a homeowner is a bit of a time-sucker! There's always something that needs doing, cleaning, fixing.....the list seems endless.

Anyway, last Sunday I went to a meeting at my upline Wendy's house. We discussed the recent London Regionals and shared projects we'd been working on. This is what I showed to the gals. Have a looky!
Isn't it cute????Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net It's a desk/stationary set that I made with a template I purchased from another demo online (thanks, Becky!) I just LOVE this!! I used Old Olive and Bashful Blue cardstock, and some retired Maine Blueberry paper (sniff sniff). It's perfectly sized to hold regular 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 cards and envelopes, plus it looks pretty on your desk! I haven't tarted mine up yet with ribbon and such, but I plan to make one of these for my mum for Mother's Day. I hope you like it!

More Stack samples

As promised, here are the other two cards my ladies completed on Sunday:

This is a super quick masculine card using Lovely As a Tree. I think we demos all live in fear of the day this set retires! It's been around forever but it's so versatile! I cased the layout for this card from my friend Corrie, another talented demo in my sideline. You can see her original card here. On our card we changed the colour scheme and used a base of Baja Breeze, with blocks of Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy and Basic Grey. The greeting is stamped in Whisper White craft ink to make it stand out. You could make this card with pretty much any colour combination.

And our final card:
I LOVE the accordion fold! Ok, I love any card that has a unique opening and this one was no exception. On a base of Pink Pirouette we layered strips of Rose Red. The stamp set is Crazy for Cupcakes. I love cupcakes - especially chocolate ones....with lots of icing. Anyway, I digress. The centre image was coloured in with markers and blender pens, and we finished it using the Dazzling Diamond Dust technique. A strip of Pink Pirouette ribbon completes the card. Thanks for looking!

In the Thick of Things

We're in the thick of Sale-A-Bration now! Did you know you can earn a free stamp set, paper pack or ribbon bundle for every $60 you spent? If you host a workshop of $350, you also get a free set, in addition to all the other hostess benefits. Contact me to book your workshop today!

I thought I'd share with you some of the cards we made at my recent Stamp a Stack. Here's the first one:

This card uses a base of Kiwi Kiss, some Candy Lane DSP and the set Party Hearty. I love the scallop edge punch for several reasons, not the least of which is that you can make these cool frames with it. I "wove" the strips of paper through the back. I kinda like the way it reminds me of a cross. The centre of the "B" is popped up with a dimensional.

This second card uses the SAB set Polka Dot Punches. It uses Taken with Teal and Pumpkin Pie, along with the scallop circle and 5-petal flower punches. I cased this card from one we did at the Mega Meeting back in January. Click here to see all the other amazing sets you can earn, or click on the brochure at the right.

Ok, well it's off to take care of some business before bed. I shall be back tomorrow with more cards for your viewing pleasure.

Ack! Where did all the time go?

Seriously, where is it? It can't be August since my last post, can it? Yikes.

Well we all know how life gets in the way of many things, like stamping. One of my resolutions is to keep this blog updated on a much more regular basis. Way more often than once every 5 months!! And yes, I know it is January 26th...so I am starting a bit late, ok!

I will be updating soon with pictures of what I've been doing.

Stay tuned!!!
